Fire Hydrant Maintenance

The City of Coon Rapids maintains approximately 3,200 fire hydrants.

During spring and summer, hydrants are flushed (above) to remove sediment and inspected thoroughlyto ensure proper operation in the event of a fire emergency.

After flushing and cleaning some hydrants are painted or replaced by Utilities Division crews when required.
