Within the City of Coon Rapids there are many recreational sports programs that cater to a variety of interests. Most programming if provided through private non-profit organizations which coordinate their park usage through the Citys Recreation Coordinator. For information on Coon Rapids youth sports programs, contact the appropriate association for more information on their programs.
Adult Softball Leagues are administered by the Recreation coordinator. ASA/USSSA sanctioned leagues are offered in the spring and fall of each year. Mens, Womens and Co-Rec. leagues fill quickly each season. Registration is held from mid-February to mid-March for spring leagues.
Fall league registration takes place from mid-June to mid-July. For more information contact the Recreation Coordinator.
Coon Rapids Baseball Association
Offers Rec League and Competitive Leagues for 13 – 18 yrs old. All players interested in playing baseball and live within the City of Coon Rapids boundaries or CRHS boundaries are eligible to participate. Registration is generally held in late February or early March with the season beginning in May.
Coon Rapids Athletic Association
A volunteer organization which offers numerous programs for boys and girls. In March registration is held for slow pitch softball grades 2-12 and lacrosse for boys in grades 3-8. In July registration for football in grades 2-8. In September registration for girls’ basketball grades 2-12. In November boys’ basketball grades 2-12 and wrestling grades 1-6. We are looking for people interested in sharing their time and talents by volunteering. Registration fees, dates and times are listed on our website (see links at right). CRAA is located the corner of Foley Blvd and 115th Ave.
Coon Rapids Cardinal Basketball Club
Provides boys and girls in grades 4-8 an opportunity to participate at a competitive level of basketball to prepare for varsity competition at Coon Rapids High School. The Association along with the Coon Rapids Boys and Girls High School Basketball programs provide skills camps, player evaluations, team formation, organized practices and tournament play in local and out of town communities. The Association hosts an annual Cardinal Basketball tournament to raise funds for the organization and to build a stronger basketball community. The Association partners with the Coon Rapids High School to participate in summer camps as well. In early fall, prior to try-outs the Association provides a skills camp to prepare players for try-outs. The season is from fall through the first part of March. Coon Rapids Fastpitch Association
Offers a traveling fastpitch softball program for girls from ages 5-18. Registration is held in Janurary and early February. CRFA seeks to provide a community and volunteer driven program to promote growth and development of our players. CRFA works to promote a fun, fair and safe environment that maximizes participation and improves players' skills while developing sportsmanship, teamwork and self-confidence.
Coon Rapids Little League and T-Ball
A community-based baseball program that consists of over 1,300 children ranging in age from 4-12 years old. Players are organized into levels based on age. Coon Rapids Little League is split into three charter Little Leagues (American, Central, & National) based on the home address of the child. Coon Rapids Soccer Association
Has over 1,500 soccer boys and girls aged 4-18 years, both in-house and traveling soccer playing in seasonal leagues and events throughout the year. Programs run; spring, summer, fall and winter (indoor).

U9 - U19 Summer Traveling (Apr - July): Team formation in August for following summer.

CRSA is run by a dedicated volunteer board and paid Director of Coaching & Player Development. CRSA offers high level coaching and training for all players, summer camps and clinic, coach and parent education, college prep programs, international travel, and much more. Dedicated to the development of children; as individuals and soccer players and teams.
