The City of Coon Rapids has a large system of parks and trails that are well utilized by the public.  To continue this tradition, the city is embarking on a new strategic planning process to help guide the maintenance and development of parks, recreation and open space planning for the future.

Background information: The city has already held two public house events to gather the public’s input. The events took place on May 23 and May 30, and were held at the Coon Rapids City Center. The firm of Brauer & Associates, LTD. is helping the city guide its strategic planning process. The firm will compile the public comments from the open house events, along with its research to develop a preliminary strategic plan for the city. The report will be available later this year. City staff will also analyze the public comments gathered through surveys and social media
