Coon Rapids snowplow crews will be out plowing residential streets beginning at 4 a.m. on Monday, January 15. Three inches of fluffy snow fell throughout the day in Coon Rapids and crews have been out plowing the City's main streets today.Sidewalk plowing will begin after street plowing is complete and will likely continue in to Tuesday.Winter parking reminder: Winter parking restrictions are in effect until April 1. This means vehicles cannot be parked on the street anytime between 2 a.m. and 6 a.m. each night. Parking is also prohibited on public streets anytime there is an accumulation of three inches of snow, or until the street has been plowed from curb-to-curb. Once the snowplow has gone by, and the street has been thoroughly cleaned from curb-to-curb, parking can resume.Garbage and recycling can rules: Remember when it is your garbage day, please help our snowplow drivers by putting your garbage and recycling carts behind the curb and not in the street. This is required by City Code and it helps to keep the streets free of obstructions so the plow can go by and clean thoroughly.
