Night to Unite

Thank you to everyone who participated in the 2016 Night to Unite celebration on Tuesday, August 2, 2016!

We had over 110 registered parties, an estimate of over 2400 people participating in the events and a team of dozens of police and  fire department staff out visiting with residents.

Neighbors who know each other make for safe communities! Keep up the great work everyone and mark you calendars for the 2017 event which will take place on Tuesday, August 1 2017.

Night to Unite (formerly known as National Night Out) is designed to:
  • Generate support for, and participation in local anti-crime programs.
  • Strengthen neighborhood spirit and police-community partnerships.
  • Send a message to criminals letting them know that neighborhoods are organized and fighting back.
  • Heighten crime and drug prevention awareness.

Along with the traditional display of outdoor lights and front porch vigils, cities, towns and neighborhoods celebrate Night to Unite with a variety of events and activities such as:
  • Block parties
  • Contests
  • Cookouts
  • Flashlight walks
  • Parades
  • Visits from local police and fire departments
  • Youth programs

Night to Unite has proven to be an effective, inexpensive and enjoyable program to promote neighborhood spirit and police-community partnerships in our fight for a safer nation. The benefits your community will derive from Night to Unite will most certainly extend well beyond the night.
