Message from Mayor Jerry Koch
Coon Rapids is a vibrant community, a place that has been my home for many years. From our amenities and services to our close-knit neighborhoods and vibrant business community, our city offers the perfect mix of opportunities for people to thrive.
Our city offers a wide variety of services and amenities; a 24 hour police and fire department (our response times for public safety are fantastic), an extensive parks and trails system (with more features being added each year), the Riverdale Regional Shopping Area, Anoka-Ramsey Community College, award-winning Mercy Hospital and wonderful schools.
We also have very active community and volunteer organizations in our city. These include the Coon Rapids Athletic Association (CRAA), service organizations such as the Lions Club, Kiwanis Club, Rotary and more. The City also offers opportunities to serve on a variety of advisory commissions. Our community is known for its active spirit of volunteerism and we encourage everyone to get involved in the community in some way. There are many opportunities available.
You will have fun at the many community events offered here in Coon Rapids as well. From our well-known 4th of July celebration (with a fireworks display that is one of the largest in the state), to Snowflake Days, Night to Unite, summer and winter concerts and more, there's always something fun to do here in Coon Rapids!
I encourage you to visit our community if you have never been here before. We know you won't be disappointed.
